Eloise B. Hammond, 88, of 902 Pennyoaks Drive, Macomb, Ill., died at 2:20 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at her home.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Clungston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb, with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery in Table Grove, Ill.

The family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Macomb Dialysis Center or American Red Cross Transportation in Macomb.

Mrs. Hammond was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Equality, Ill., the daughter of James D. and Sophia E. Breeze Bullard. She married Gerald Eugene Hammond Feb. 20, 1941. He died June 25, 1975.

She graduated from Western Illinois University in 1938 and held various teaching positions. She also was a licensed insurance agent.

Mrs. Hammond was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb and was an active member in various community organizations.

Survivors include six daughters, Elaine Riebling and husband Jerry of Peoria, Ill., Jane Appenbrink and husband David of West Wood, Kan., Nancy Keithley and husband Roger of Sciota, Ill., Mary Ann Monn and husband Earl of Lewiston, Ill., Susan Johnson and husband Brad of Fairfield and Linda Norton and husband Rich of Silvis, Ill.; two sons, Tom Hammond and wife Joyce of Aurora, Ill., and Michael Hammond and wife Ina of Macomb; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son; and one sister, Ruth Arling.
