BRIGHTON - Fredrick Joseph EMRY, 52, of Brighton, died Monday, Jan. 1, 1996, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. David Brownfield officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. A general memorial has been established.
EMRY was born Feb. 27, 1943, near Germanville, the son of Austin "Pard" and Olive STALDER EMRY. He attended Walnut County School and graduated from Brighton High School in 1961. On Feb. 10, 1962, he married Shelby DUNSMORE. A lifelong resident of the Brighton area, he formerly was employed at Jefferson County Engineering, Crane Co., Washington, Iowa, and currently was a school bus driver for Washington Community Schools and manager of Emry Auction of Brighton. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Anthony of Grinnell, Charles and Robert, both of Brighton; a daughter, Susan GRIGGS of Washington; six grandchildren; his mother of Brighton; a sister, Dolores NASH, Wentzville, Mo.; three nieces and nephew. His father and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
