Dale Ira Kerr, 26, of Birmingham, died at 2:08 p.m. Monday afternoon, Feb. 2, 2004, at the Jefferson County Hospital.

A private family service will be held Thursday afternoon at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.

Family visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday and from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to Libertyville Fire Department, Douds Fire Department or Birmingham Fire Department and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 17203 110th Road, Douds 52551.

Gould Funeral Home in Richland is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kerr was born May 17, 1977, the son of Dale L. and Marilyn M. Love Kerr. He married Lori McCoy and they later divorced.

Mr. Kerr graduated from Van Buren Community High School in 1995 and studied machine shop at Indian Hills Community College. He had worked at The Dexter Company in Fairfield for several years.

He was a member of the Libertyville Fire Department and was active in motorcycle racing and four-wheeler racing.

Survivors include, one daughter, Lacey Kerr of Douds; his parents of Douds; grandmothers, Beryl Kerr of Douds and Ada Love of Fairfield; one brother, Richard Kerr of Douds; one sister, Tammy Kerr of Douds; and two stepbrothers, Roy Nelson of Douds and Gary Nelson of Birmingham.

His grandfathers, Carl Nelson and Veryl Kerr preceded him in death.
