Emma Josephine PACHA

Emma Josephine PACHA, 96, of Washington, Iowa, and formerly of Brighton, died early Saturday, June 22, 2013, at All American Care Center in Washington.

A funeral is set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Robert Striegel and the Rev. Troy Richmond con-celebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain.

Visitation will open at 5 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6-8 p.m. and Prayers for a Christian Wake at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Jacob Greiner officiating, at the church.

Memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., St. Joseph Cemetery Fund or HCI Hospice of Mount Pleasant can be left at the church or mailed to the family at 122 Green Meadows Drive, Washington 52353.

Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is handling the arrangements.

Miss PACHA was born Sept. 11, 1916, south of Brighton, the daughter of John J. and Agnes FRITZ PACHA.

Miss PACHA grew up in the Brighton area, graduated from Brighton High School in 1934 and from Mercy Hospital in Burlington in 1947, with a registered nurse degree.

She lived all of her life in the Brighton area.

She was employed at housekeeping duties in Fairfield and clerk duties for Dexter Company in Fairfield before assuming nursing duties at Washington County Hospital, where she worked for many years. She retired in 1973 to care for her parents.

Miss PACHA was a member of Sts. Joseph and Cabrini Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society at East Pleasant Plain and the Washington County Nurses Association.

Survivors include two brothers: Paul PACHA of Washington and Charles PACHA and wife Maggie, also of Washington; three sisters: Mary REDLINGER and husband Jim of Washington, Isabelle ADAM of Richland and Helen HESSELTINE of Oxford.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Anna SHERIDAN.
