WHEELDON dies at 84

BATAVIA - Homer WHEELDON, 84, died Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at his apartment in Agency following a lengthy illness.

He was born February 5, 1895 near Percy, Iowa, the son of Theo and Anna HOLMES WHEELDON. His entire life was spent on a farm near Batavia. He was a veteran of World War I, a charter member of Barracks 1510 and a member of the Bladensburg Christian church.

On December 31, 1924 he married Rebecca TEETER at Washington and she survives. Also surviving are four daughters: Louise BISHOP, West Liberty; Marid HUGHES, and Orpha DODGE, Ottumwa, and Mary Ruth HANNA of Westminster, Colo; three sons, George of Sigourney, Donald, Batavia, and True, Pleasant Hill, 22 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the Rev. Tom Felts officiating. Burial in Batavia cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
