Rites Pending

Mrs. Hattie U. SHAFER, 91, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday at the Nelson Nursing Home where she had been a patient since December, 1969.

The body was taken to the Raymond Funeral Home where last rites are pending.

Hattie U. SHAFER was born March 31, 1882, in Iowa, the daughter of John O. and Martha GREESON NELSON. She was reared and educated in Jefferson County.

She was united in marriage to Eddie SHAFER who preceded his wife in death April 1, 1957.

Mrs. SHAFER lived most of her life in Des Moines, moving to Fairfield after the death of her husband. She was a member of the Christian Church.

A sister, Mrs. Lucy MILES, Ottumwa, survives. She was preceded in death by one sister.

SHAFER Rites At Raymonds

Funeral services for Hattie U. SHAFER will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned Gillum in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. SHAFER, 91, died Saturday at the Nelson Nursing Home where she had been a patient since December, 1969.
