William LYON Dies At 98

William A. LYON, 98, former resident of Jefferson County, died Monday in a long term care facility in Broken Bow, Neb.

Funeral services and burial will be held Thursday at Merna, Neb.

LYON was born June 11, 1879 in Unadilla, Neb. He was married Sept. 15, 1901 to Rose A. HOLMES at Brookville. He farmed in the Fairfield and Packwood areas before returning to Nebraska.

LYON is survived by two grandsons, seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. His wife and three children preceded him in death.

Clifford KELLEY, who resides northwest of Fairfield, is a son-in-law. KELLEY and his son, Bernard KELLEY, Galesburg, Ill., will attend funeral services.
