Rites Wednesday for J. ELLIOTT

LIBERTYVILLE - Death came at 10:25 a.m. Sunday to John Merlin ELLIOTT, 67, Route 1, Libertyville. He died at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been admitted the day before.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Connor officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery south of Libertyville.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Libertyville Senior Citizen Center.

John Merlin ELLIOTT was born Jan. 30, 1917, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Harry and Esther SMITH ELLIOTT. He lived his entire life in the same neighborhood in which he was born.

He was married to Dorothy SHIELDS Dec. 24, 1939, at Pleasant Plain. She survives.

ELLIOTT was a semi-retired farmer and had been a security guard for 15 years at the Iowa Malleable Iron Works for the Pinkerton Agency.

In addition to his widow he is survived by a daughter, Barbara HENDRICKSON, Blandinsville, Ill.; a son, Roger ELLIOTT, Fairfield; seven grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
