E. WHITMORE

BATAVIA - Services for Esther WHITMORE, 90, who died Wednesday morning at Jefferson County Hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Gospel Lighthouse Church in Batavia with pastor Brace Oliver officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield. A memorial has been established to Mrs. WHITMORE's church. Open visitation is at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia.

Mrs. WHITMORE was born March 18, 1894 near Abingdon, the daughter of James and Daisy IVES BAIRD. She spent most of her life in the Abingdon and Batavia communities. On July 20, 1918, she married Claude WHITMORE at Ottumwa. They lived on a farm north of Brookville until moving to Batavia in 1963. He died Oct. 12, 1981.

Surviving are a sister, Letha BAIRD of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. WHITMORE was a member of Gospel Lighthouse in Batavia.
