Mrs. Hulda Christina BRIGHT PHIPPS, 97, a long-time resident of Jefferson County, died Saturday at Golden Age Manor in Amery, Wis. She had made her home in Clear Lake, Wis., for several years.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hammer Funeral Home in Clear Lake. The body will be brought to the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield where visitation will be observed Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Local services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the New Sweden Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. PHIPPS was born March 22, 1876 in Sweden, the daughter of Gustaf Adolph and Charlotta Christina JOHNSON BRIGHT. She accompanied her parents when she came to the United States, settling in Jefferson County in May, 1876. She moved to Fairfield in 1913, making her home at 801 E. Adams.
She was married to Charles Hugh PHIPPS Jan. 13, 1935. He died Nov. 8, 1943. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. O.E. LINDERSON, Clear Lake, Wis. Three sisters and one brother are deceased.
Mrs. PHIPPS was a member of New Sweden Lutheran Church before transferring her membership to Clear Lake.
