G. GORMAN Dies At 73

Glenn GORMAN, 73, native of Jefferson County, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at his home one mile south of Fairfield on Highway No. 1. He had been in failing health the past year.

Last rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Glen GORMAN was born Aug. 15, 1899, near Batavia. He was the son of James H. and Malinda McCLARY GORMAN. A retired farmer, he spent his entire life in Jefferson County.

He was married to June SNIDER in Fairfield Dec. 24, 1921. He was a member of the Cross Lanes Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph LEATHERS, Fairfield; two granddaughters and one grandson; and a sister, Mrs. H.C. MESSER, Williamsburg.

Admin. note: Given name of James Glenn was noted in an announcement for their 50th anniversary cruise in 1971. Wife June died in 2003 and both are buried in the New part of the cemetery in Lot S80.
