CLARKE Rites On Monday

Last rites for James R. CLARKE, former Fairfield resident, will be Monday at the Weston Behner Funeral Home.

The services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Stumbo officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

CLARKE died at 6 a.m. Friday at the University Hospital in Iowa City following a serious illness of the past month.

James R. CLARKE, 46, was born March 26, 1927, in Fairfield, the son of George and Leona FRITCHEN CLARKE. He attended schools in Fairfield and spent his early life in this community.

His marriage to Betty GRIMES took place March 26, 1965. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Des Moines and was purchasing clerk at Capital Sanitary Supply in Des Moines.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, George, Fairfield, and James, Fort Ritchie, Md.; one daughter, Ellen M. CLARKE, Packwood; two stepsons, Michael SCHMITT, Dubuque, and Robert SCHMITT, Des Moines; his mother, Mrs. Leona CLARKE, Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his father. The family home in Des Moines is located at 3944 - 40th Street.
