M. PHILLIPS Rites Set

Mrs. Marcene DUGGAN PHILLIPS, 60, 106 S. Sixth, died at 7:02 p.m. Sunday at the Ottumwa Hospial.

Last rites will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. George Hannsa of Waverly in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Marcene DUGGAN PHILLIPS was born July 6, 1912, in Keokuk, the daughter of John and Theresa ULLRICH DUGGAN.

She was a 1930 graduate from the Fairfield High School and married Jack CASE in 1934. She later married George Donald PHILLIPS in 1942 who was killed in action during World War II in North Africa.

Mrs. PHILLIPS was a former employe at the Fairfield Glove Co. and later served as manager of both Cedar Falls and Waterloo Western Union Telegraph Offices. She retired in 1972 moving back to Fairfield at that time. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.

Mrs. PHILLIPS is survived by one son, Dr. J. L. CASE, Wilmington, Del.; nine grandchildren; three brothers, John J., Griswold; Charles D., Denver, Colo.; and William A., Fairfield; and one sister, Mrs. Bennie WINFREY, Fairfield.
