Marna I. CARR

Marna I. CARR, 90, of rural Keosauqua died at 12:45 a.m. today, Monday, April 15, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren Hospice in Keosauqua.

A funeral is planned at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in the Bonaparte Cemetery.

Visitation will open at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 24342 170th St., Keosauqua, IA 52565.

Mrs. CARR was born Aug. 1, 1922, at Lowell, the daughter of Charles and Annetta JONES THORNBURG. She married Orville L. CARR July 28, 1946, in Pulaski. He died Feb. 20, 2000.

Mrs. CARR lied most of her life in Van Buren County, was a farm homemaker and a member of Lowell Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons: Tommy CARR and wife Doris, Melvin CARR and wife Sharon, and Rex CARR and wife Nancy, all of Keosauqua; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchldren; one great-great-grandson; two stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Dayton THORNBURG of New London; and one sister, Velva DeLONG of New London.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Burton THORNBURG; and one daughter-in-law, Marcy CARR.
