Richard Anthony "Tony" Wick
January 27, 2004Richard Anthony "Tony" Wick, 50, of New London, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant after a two-year battle with cancer.
According to the familys wishes, the casket will remain closed.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel in New London, with a time of remembrance at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Dameron officiating. A private family interment will be held Thursday in Jaggar Cemetery in Danville with the Rev. Dan Dingus officiating.
Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday.
A memorial has been established.
Mr. Wick was born July 17, 1953, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Richard and Marilyn Nelson Wick. He married Pam Edgington May 27, 1978, in Oakland Mills.
Mr. Wick worked construction his entire life and retired from J.I. Case in Burlington. His pastimes include gardening, spending time with his family, fishing and hunting, watching sports, Harley Davidson motorcycling and spending time with his dogs.
He was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of UAW local 807 and served four years on New London City Council.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Jeremy Wick of Fairfield; two daughters, Susan and Jenna Wick, both of the home; his parents of New London; and three sisters, Michelle McIntyre of Danville, Cheryl Parks of New London and Melanie Boyd of New London.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael; and his grandparents.
