Grace JOHNSON, 74, dies

BATAVIA - Grace L. JOHNSON, 74, died Monday afternoon at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines where she had been a patient 30 days.

She was born April 16, 1905 west of Batavia, the daughter of Charles and Martha Jane CLARK MORRISON and lived most of her life in the Batavia community. She was a past matron of Arbor-Vitae Chapter 327 of Eastern Star and attended the United Methodist Church in Batavia.

She married D.W. JOHNSON Feb. 20, 1924. He survives.

Also surviving are five brothers, Henry MORRISON of Silver Lake, Ind., Elmer of Batavia, Verner of Bakersfield, Calif., Arnold of Fairfield and Bud of Milwaukee, Wis. Her parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the Rev. Steve Conte officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery.
