Betty Rose BLACK

The service for Betty Rose BLACK, 74, 600 E. Pierce Ave., who died at 6:47 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 1992, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Buford Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Open visitation is from noon Saturday until time of service. A memorial has been established.

Mrs. BLACK was born March 23, 1918, in Delta, the daughter of Osro J. and Grace E. HUNTER DAVIS. She married Roy G. BLACK on May 19, 1934, in Lancaster, Mo. A homemaker, she also had worked as a custodian for Parsons College and Fairfield Middle School before she retired.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Marie HENRY and Shirley Mae NELSON, both of Fairfield; six grandchildren; three stepgrandsons and 10 great-grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death.
