Robert HOWARD

Robert HOWARD, 72 of Eldon, died at 5:14 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Grace Funeral Care in Eldon.

Note: There has not been a more complete obituary in the "Ledger" in the two weeks following Robert's death. However, the Grace Funeral Care website has an obituary for him, which notes that he has been cremated and no services will be held at this time. He was born March 4, 1940, in Ottumwa, to Arthur and Helen VEST HOWARD. He graduated from Ottumwa High School and married Georgia NEMMERS in 1983; she died in 1998. He is survived by a sister, Marjorie KIELKOPF, a great niece Amy CASH, and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, his wife, and four brothers (Tom, Jeep, Bub and Art) preceded him. He retired from BNSF railroad, and liked to golf frequently with his buddies in Keosauqua. He also enjoyed fishing, and cleaning and mowing around Eldon. Memorials to Heartland Humane Society in Ottumwa may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 10, Eldon, IA, 52554.

His wife Georgia is buried in Eldon Cemetery, Wapello County, IA, Section 6, Row 1, Grave 17.
