January 20, 2004Agnes S. Peterson, 93, of Orlando, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, in Orlando.
The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at Elm Grove Cemetery in Wasington, Iowa.
The family will receive friends at 2:30 p.m. 31 at the Morrison Center of Halcyon House in Washington.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the United Methodist Church of Washington.
Jones-Eden Funeral Home of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Peterson was born Dec. 21, 1910, in Richland, the daughter of Logan and Bernice Wade Sellers. She married Allen C. Peterson June 1, 1935, in Richland. He died in 1993.
Mrs. Peterson graduated from Richland High School in 1929, and later attended William Penn College in Oskaloosa. Prior to her marriage, she worked as the Keokuk County Recorders office in Sigourney. After their marriage, she and her husband lived in Washington, Iowa, until 1989, when they moved to Florida to be near to their children.
She was a member of TTT, Iowa Chapter Y, and a member of White Shrine and Eastern Star. She belonged to the United Methodist Church in Washington.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Fritz and husband Bob of Casselberry, Fla., and Jane Peterson of Winter Park, Fla.; one son, John Peterson and wife Gwen of Ocala, Fla.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Sellars of Washington, Iowa.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.
