Arthur Lawrence LENHART

Arthur Lawrence LENHART, 96, of Parkview Care Center, died at 10:32 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at the center.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Kent officiating. The body will be cremated and burial will be at a later date. Family visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Parkview Care Center Activity Fund.

Mr. LENHART was born Aug. 5, 1903, near Burlington, the son of John Godfred and Emma Rose ORT LENHART. He married Elsie GREEN Feb. 24, 1926. She died Jan. 28, 1968. He married Helen HARTLEY. After her death, he married Alta SWEENY. She died Nov. 21, 1998.

Mr. LENHART was a farmer and had farmed in Jefferson County for 35 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Odd Fellows Lodge 4, both in Fairfield. He was a former member of Farm Bureau.

Survivors include one daughter, Joyce M. MILLER of Cedar Rapids; five grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kermit LENHART; one sister, Alva YOUNG; and two brothers, Carl and Aaron LENHART.
