Shirley P. DINGUS, 85, of Fort Madison and formerly of Keosauqua, died at 9:20 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Fort Madison Health Center.
Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Shifley P. DINGUS, 85 of Fort Madison, died at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Fort Madison Health Center.
A funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Douglas Harding officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and also from 10-11 a.m. Friday with family present, prior to the funeral.
A memorial has been established for Paws Animal Shelter. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to family at P.O. Box 245, Denmark, IA 52624.
Mrs. DINGUS was born May 14, 1927, in Fairfield, the daughter of Seth W. and Frances CLARRIDGE NELSON. She married Malcolm DINGUS Jr. April 13, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1959.
She attended Iowa Success Business College and worked at Farmers State Bank in Keosauqua and Birmingham for more than 30 years.
In later years, she was a caretaker for several people in their homes, including her aunt and uncle Mace and Inez CLARRIDGE.
She was a member of Keosauqua Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Fort Madison Senior Citizens.
She was talented in making Christmas ornaments, enjoyed country western music and feeding and watching birds. She always had a pet - a dog or birds.
Survivors include three sons, Dale DINGUS and spouse Donna of Missouri Valley, Daniel DINGUS and spouse Jonna of Denmark, Iowa, and Michael DINGUS and spouse Rebecca of Sterling, Ill.; one sister, Mary Anna NELSON of Fort Madison; 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald R. NELSON; and one great-grandson.
