Edith C. NORDYKE, 73, of 3000 W. Madison Ave., died at 8:19 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Richland United Methodist Church in Richland, with the Rev. Jane Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established to the Diabetes Association or to hospice.
Mrs. NORDYKE was born May 13, 1930, in Washington County, the daughter of Jacob and Ocie BLACK BOESE. She married William E. NORDYKE July 2, 1950, in Abingdon. He died April 2, 1992.
Mrs. NORDYKE grew up near Lockridge and had lived in the rural Fairfield area. After her marriage, she and her husband lived in the Abingdon community. She worked at the Universal Producing Company in Fairfield. She moved to Richland in 1994. She moved to SunnyBrook Assisted Living in August 2003.
She was a member of Richland United Methodist Church since 1998.
Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn (Tom) SIMMONS of Fairfield, Catherine (David) ROTH of Boulder, Colo., Rosemary (Ron) JACKS of Waverly and Susan (Brian) ULIN of Richland; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances BOESE of Fairfield and Dorothy BARTHOLOMEW of Washington, Iowa; and one brother, Dale BOESE of Selma.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brother, Art, Alfred and Howard BOESE; and one sister, Mildred BOESE.
