Willis "Burl" Lamm
January 09, 2004Willis "Burl" Lamm, 80, of Keosauqua , died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
The funeral will be held for 11 a.m. Monday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Larry Wagner officiating. Burial will be at the Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
Open visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service Monday.
A memorial has been established.
Mr. Lamm was born March 29, 1923, in rural Van Buren County, the son of Jesse and Beulah Stonehouse Lamm. He married Helen Maxine Lee Jan. 30, 1944, in Kahoka, Mo. She died Jan. 27, 2000.
Mr. Lamm served during World War II with the Army in France and Germany. He farmed and was employed at Champion Spark Plug where he retired from in 1986. His pastimes included bird watching, gardening and being with the family.
Survivors include three daughters, Joyce McIntosh and husband William of Keosauqua, Patti Cole and husband John of Mount Pleasant and Darla Meyer and husband Ralph of Burlington; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
