C.W. HEDGE Dies At 85

Charles W. HEDGE, 85, prominent Jefferson County retired Jefferson County retired farmer, died at 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, at Nelson Nursing Home. He had been in failing health for several years.

HEDGE was born July 7, 1891 in Jefferson County on a farm three miles north of Fairfield where he was raised. He was the son of David B. and Adella JONES HEDGE.

On Feb. 25, 1920 he married Ethel LONDQUIST. A member of First United Methodist Church, he lived his entire life in Jefferson County.

Mr. and Mrs. HEDGE purchased the original HEDGE homestead north of Fairfield in 1933 where they lived until they came to the Nelson Nursing Home.

They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary March 14 this year at the nursing home.

Surviving are his wife; nieces and nephews and one sister, Mrs. Roy JEWELL of rural Fairfield.

Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
