GUSTAFSON Rites Today

Fred R. GUSTAFSON, 86, retired Jefferson County farmer, died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been seriously ill the past two weeks.

Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Lenwood Monte and the Rev. Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial was in Upland Cemetery south of Lockridge.

Fred R. GUSTAFSON was born June 29, 1890, in Henry County, the son of Charles and Nellie GRANDBURG GUSTAFSON. His marriage to Maude E. ERICKSON took place March 19, 1913. She died Dec. 14, 1976 (sic - 1974).

GUSTAFSON lived most all of his life in Jefferson County and farmed near Lockridge for many years before retiring and moving to Fairfield. He was a member of the First Augustana Lutheran Church at Lockridge.

Survivors include two sons, Harold, Moline, Ill., and Virgil, LaCrosse (sic - La Crosse), Wis.; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel SCHWARTZ, Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Dorothy WINSLOW, Fairfield; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and one sister.
