Monday, December 13, 1976R.L. HICKS Dies At 71
Robert L. HICKS, 71, Route 2, Batavia, died Saturday at 1 p.m., at the Jefferson County Hospital.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Vaughan and the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Interment will be in Abingdon Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7:30 to 8:30 at the funeral home.
Memorials are requested for the youth programs at Faith Baptist Church in Fairfield and the Peoples Church of Batavia.
HICKS was born April 18, 1905 at Swifton, Ark., the son of William and Cora JONES HICKS.
On March 30, 1935, he married Mildred E. WHITMORE at New London. He has lived in the Batavia area for over 10 years and previously worked for the Northern Illinois Gas Company at Aurora, Ill., for 38 years.
He is survived by his widow; one brother, Raymond W. HICKS of Columbus, Ohio, and one sister, Mrs. Beaulah DALTON of Hamburg.
