Harvey D. SCEARCY, 64 of Libertyville died at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, in the emergency room at Jefferson County Health Center, Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Harvey Dean SCEARCY

Harvey Dean SCEARCY, 64, of Libertyville, died at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the Jefferson County Health Center.

A funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Kirchner officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation opens at 3 p.m. Friday with family present 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Harvey Scearcy family. Cards and memorials may be sent to 15497 120th St., Douds 52551.

Mr. SEARCY (sic) was born July 28, 1948, in Bonaparte the son of Earl and Marcella "June" TRIPP SCEARCY. He married Mary "JoAnn" GILL May 23, 1970, in Bentonsport.

He graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1966.

He worked at American Chain and Cable, J&B Plastics, selling Rainbow vacuums and at Rockwell/Meritor.

He liked hunting, fishing, going to auctions, collecting diecast cars and Dale Earnhardt items, watching NASCAR and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn of Libertyville; two sons, Dave "B.P." SCEARCY and spouse Jess of Douds, and Dan SCEARCY and spouse Mia of Marion,; one granddaughter; two stepgrandchildren; and eight siblings, Sonny SCEARCY of Bonaparte, Darlene DEAN of Luray, Mo., Betty PRINTY of Bentonsport, Mike SCEARCY of Fairfield, Mary SEDERBURG and Dale SCEARCY, both of Mount Sterling, and Alice DICKERSON and Judy SCEARCY, both of Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Linda SCEARCY.
