Naomi Davis Smith, 89, of Kahoka, Mo., formerly of Keosauqua died at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. William Mitchell and the Rev. Mark Caston officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.

Memorials to Keosauqua Christian Church, Keosauqua Public Library or Order of Eastern Star ESTARL program may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 113 North Geronimo Trail, Canton, MO 63435.

Mrs. Smith was born July 22, 1914, near Cantril, the daughter of Alvin and Ava Cowan Stott. She married Carroll W. Davis April 1, 1934, in Etna, Mo. He died April 11, 1980. She married Wayne Tad Smith Sept. 25, 1985, in Nashua. He died March 11, 1994.

Mrs. Smith graduated from Granger High School in Granger, Mo., and Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. She taught in rural Van Buren County schools and for 28 years in the Van Buren community school system.

She was a member of Keosauqua Christian Church and Christian Womens Fellowship and served many years as church pianist. She was a past matron of the former Lynds Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Keosauqua and was currently a member of Twin City Chapter No. 258 OES in Douds and Van Buren County Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Coleman and husband Kenneth of Farmington and Carolyn Kropf and husband Duane of Canton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Reba Cochenour of Arbela, Mo.; and one brother, Paul Stott of Reseda, Calif.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Lloyd and Oren William Stott.
