Barbara GEER

Barbara GEER, 88, of Duxbury, Mass., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in New York City.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Parish in Duxbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Mrs. GEER's name to Child Fund International, www.childfund.org.

Mrs. GEER was born April 1, 1924. She married W. Montague GEER III.

She was an active member of Holy Family Parish in Duxbury, including its daily prayer group. She was previously a member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Duxbury, including its altar guild.

She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of Duxbury's Garden Club and Bookworms Book Club and a regular participant in computer and language courses at the Duxbury Senior Center.

She was a lifelong artist and bird lover.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald GEER of Fairfield and William M. GEER IV and wife Joanne of Wake Forest, N.C.; one daughter, Pamela GEER GORDON and husband Howard of Wellesley, Mass; and six grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, W. Montague GEER III.
