January 02, 2004Helen C. White, 94, of Bonaparte, died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at River Hills Care Center in Keokuk.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Harrisburg Baptist Church, north of Bonaparte, with the Rev. David Doerr officiating. Burial will be in Christy Cemetery southwest of Farmington.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the family present from 7-8 p.m. Memorials to Bonaparte First Responders or Christy Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 83, Keosauqua 52565.
Mrs. White was born Nov. 11, 1909, in Harrisburg Township, north of Bonaparte, the daughter of George B. and Lena Belle Rockefellow McComb. She married Rollo H. White Dec. 25, 1928, at Bonaparte. He died May 24, 1992.
Mrs. White grew up in Harrisburg Township and graduated from Bonaparte High School. She worked with her husband when he was a manager of State Central Savings Bank in Bonaparte and in their own business, White Shopping Center in Bonaparte.
She attended Harrisburg Baptist Church and was a past matron of Magnolia Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Bonaparte.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Joan Heminger of Bonaparte, Janet Pratt and husband Darrell and Anita King, all of Keosauqua; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Bruce McComb and Harold C. McComb; one sister, Marie Lingenfelter; one grandson; two great-great-grandsons; and two son-in-laws, Donald Rex Heminger and Fred King.
