Frances Hite, 101, of Fairfield died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, in the Jefferson County Hospital Long-term Care Unit, where she had resided for 23 years.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Batavia United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dale Gray officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday prior to the service.

Memorials to the long-term care unit or Batavia United Methodist Church may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 2532 Elderberry Blvd., Libertyville 52567.

Mrs. Hite was born Feb. 18, 1902, near Batavia, the daughter of Riley and Kate Peebler Parker. She married Harold Hite April 22, 1922. He died May 14, 1977.

Mrs. Hite grew up in the Batavia area and farmed with her husband in the County Line community south of Batavia until retiring to Fairfield in 1967. She was a member of Batavia United Methodist Church, sang in the Fairfield Senior Citizens Chorus, had been a member of the County Line Club and had been a Lionel.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, John Harold Hite; four brothers, Keith Claude, Clifford and infant Russell Parker; and two sisters, Fern Hill and Grace Goble.
