Mrs. Carl DIEHL, 80, a longtime resident of Jefferson County died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, at the Nelson Nursing Home. She had resided there for the past four-and-a-half years.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. DIEHL, the former Ruth JACOBS, was born June 10, 1896 in Galesburg, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Anna LINDAHL JACOBS. She was reared and educated in Jefferson County.
On June 18, 1918, she was married to Carl DIEHL in Lockridge. He died April 19, 1971.
Surviving Mrs. DIEHL are her children: Mrs. Arthur WORLEY, Fairfield, Richard of Fairfield, Darrell of Plantation, Florida, and Alan of South Beloit, Wis.
She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ray STONER, Fairfield, Mrs. George ANDERSON, Abingdon, Ill., and Mrs. Kenneth BURNS, Fenton, Ill., as well as 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are one brother and two sisters.
The family will receive friends Friday, 7:30-8:30 p.m., at the Raymond Funeral Home.
