M. Mae Shelby, 93, of Richland died at 11:24 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ollie Baptist Church in Ollie, with the Rev. Charles Comfort officiating. Burial will be in Wymore Cemetery north of Rose Hill.

Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today, with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m. at Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

Memorials to Ollie Baptist Church or American Cancer Society can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family in care of Lyle Keiser, 32877 300th St., Richland 52585.

Mary Mae Shelby was born April 21, 1910, in South English, the daughter of Samuel and Edna Saxton Keiser. She married Dewey Shelby May 18, 1932, in Oskaloosa. He died Oct. 12, 1981.

Mrs. Shelby graduated from South English High School in 1927. She was a housewife and a grocery clerk for many years in Sigourney and Delta grocery stores.

She lived in South English, then Delta for many years, then moved to Richland in 1999.

She was a longtime member of Delta Christian Church and had attended Ollie Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Lyle Keiser of Richland; one sister, Dorothy Durr of Davenport.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
