James F. Armstrong
December 29, 2003James F. Armstrong, 87, of 504 W. Kirkwood Ave., died at 1:56 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Wotherspoon officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the VFW Auxiliary.
Mr. Armstrong was born Sept. 6, 1916, in Libertyville, the son of Ralph and Martha M. Stull Armstrong. He married Kyoko "Jackie" Kitaki in 1952 in Kobe, Japan.
Mr. Armstrong lived most of his life in the Libertyville and Fairfield area. He was a cook in the United States Army for 21 years, which included service during World War II and the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Betty E. Ableidinger of Renton, Wash.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
