December 26, 2003Robert L. Housholder, 65, of Eldon, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at his home
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eldon Christian Church in Eldon, with the Rev. George Conz officiating. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery near Selma, with military rites conducted by Sargeant-Osweiler American Legion Post 563 of Bonaparte.
Visitation began at noon today at Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon, with the family present from 7-8 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established.
Mr. Housholder was born Oct. 28, 1938, in Plymouth, Ill., the son of Travis and Ruby Munson Housholder. He married Theola Adam Dec. 15, 1956, in Van Buren County.
Mr. Housholder is a 1956 graduate of Bonaparte High School and lived in Van Buren, Davis and Jefferson counties before moving to Eldon in 1982. He was parts manager for Fairfield International in Fairfield and later for H & H International in Bloomfield. He and his wife were coast-to-coast truck drivers from 1976 until his retirement in 1989, due to a medical disability. He had owned and operated a restaurant and tavern from 1991 to 1995.
He was a member of the Sargeant-Osweiler American Legion Post 563 of Bonaparte.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Ruby VanBlaricom of Drakesville; four daughters, Linda Hilliard Parochetti of Eldon, Brenda Ridgeway and Ronda Rodgers of Troy and Sandra Hougland Schletter of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roy Housholder of Glasgow.
Mr. Housholder was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his father.
