Bernice Shuppy, 88, of Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ottumwa died at 7:24 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Mathew Andersen officiating. Burial was in Lockridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Shuppy was born Dec. 28, 1914, near Germanville, the daughter of Frank and Effie Haisley Shuppy.

Mrs. Shuppy was a resident of Ottumwa most of her life. She graduated from Lockridge High School and Iowa Wesleyan College. She taught at Agassiz Elementary and Washington Junior High School for more than 30 years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Shuppy.
