Cora M. AXTHELM, 89, resident of Fairfield for 36 years, died at 1:30 p.m Sunday at the Jefferson County Hospital where she had been a patient since Aug. 27.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church with Dr. James Angell and the Rev. Carl Riggs officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
Cora M. AXTHELM was born Jan. 31, 1892, at Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the daugther of William Whiteside and Mary Joyce MILLAR.
While she was quite young the family moved to Madison, Ind. She graduated from Hanover College in Hanover, Ind., and then moved to Iowa to teach. Her marriage to Edward E. AXTHELM took place Nov. 29, 1917, at the home of her parents in Madison, Ind. The family moved to Fairfield in 1945.
Mrs. AXTHELM was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, UPW, Lionels, Republican Women, past chairman of the county Cancer Association. She served 14 years as a Gray Lady at the Jefferson County Hospital, she was a Gold Star Mother, a charter member and first president of the Keep Young Club and Panhellenic.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. AXTHELM is survived by two daughters, Virginia ANGELL, Claremont, Calif., and Frieda EARL, Ridgefield, Conn.; one son, Robert AXTHELM, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Robert J. MILLAR, Berkely, Calif.; and a sister, Alice FRANCISCO, Madison, Ind.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lt. David AXTHELM who was killed Nov. 5, 1953, in a plane crash.

TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE ESTATE OF CORA M. AXTHELM, DECEASED:
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 14TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1981, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF CORA M. AXTHELM DECEASED BEARING DATE OF THE 8TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1975, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT EDWARD E. AXTHELM WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF SAID ESTATE.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ANY ACTION TO SET ASIDE SAID WILL MUST BE BROUGHT IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF SAID COUNTY WITHIN SIX MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF HIS NOTICE, OR THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ALL PERSONS INDEBTED TO SAID ESTATE ARE REQUESTED TO MAKE IMMEDIATE PAYMENT TO THE UNDERSIGNED, AND CREDITORS HAVING CLAIMS AGAINST SAID ESTATE SHALL FILE THEM WITH THE CLERK OF THE ABOVE NAMED DISTRICT COURT, AS PROVIDED BY LAW, DULY AUTHENTICATED, FOR ALLOWANCE; AND UNLESS SO FILED WITHIN SIX MONTHS FROM THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF HIS NOTICE (UNLESS OTHERWISE ALLOWED OR PAID) SUCH CLAIM SHALL THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.
