E. HOPKIRK rites set

LOCKRIDGE - Death came at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday to Eldra J. HOPKIRK, 91, resident of the Lockridge Community. She died at the Henry Health Center in Mount Pleasant where she had been a patient for five days.

She had lived her entire life in the Lockridge Community and taught in Henry and Jefferson County schools before her retirement. She was a member of the Lockridge Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Lockridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester H. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Lockridge Cemetery. Family visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Behner Funeral Homes(sp) in Fairfield.

Eldra J. HOPKIRK was born May 30, 1890, in Lockridge, the daughter of John N. and Louisa DANIELSON HOPKIRK.

Surivvors(sp)include a brother, Gordon HOPKIRK, Lockridge; and a sister, Fern EGGENBERGER, Mount Pleasant; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

Note: Her brother Gordon died in 1986, and she shares a gravestone with him.
