Gloria B. JONES

Born December 2, 1921 in Anaconda, Montana, to Frederick Edward BULLOCK and Frances Pernina STEPHENS BULLOCK. She was the second of four children, with an older sister, Kitty, and a younger sister and brother, Pat and Ed. Her family moved to the Berkeley, California, during the Great Depression. Gloria attended Berkeley High School.

Following WWII, Gloria married Donald W. JONES, who was born in Redwood City CA. In 1949 they gave birth to Don W JONES Jr, their only child. They lived in Berkeley until they moved to Phoenix AZ in 1949 for Don Sr's work. Gloria did volunteer work for Good Samaritan Hospital until she began to work for B. Dalton Bookseller. She became manager of 3 of the local stores, including the largest one in Metro Center Mall. Gloria & Don Sr lived in Phoenix until his death in 1992.

Following her husband's death, Gloria moved to Fairfield, IA to be near her son Don and his family. She got to spend many years enjoying being the grandmother of his two children, Kelsey and Gavin. In Fairfield, Gloria volunteered for the Jefferson County Hospital and The Bargain Box. She was an avid reader and quilter, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

In 2009, after her grandchildren had graduated from high school and moved for college, Gloria moved to Seattle WA to be near her sister Pat, brother Ed, and their families.

In 2011 Gloria moved to the Handmaker Assisted Living Community in Tucson AZ. Gloria passed away peacefully on Dec 8th, 2012. She is survived by her sister Pat and brother Ed of Seattle, and her son Don in Tucson. Her grandchildren live in Iowa and Wisconsin. Gloria's ashes wll be buried next to her husband's in the Veteran's National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix AZ. A memorial will also be maintained in the open-air chapel at The DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun, in Tucson."
