Randy Lee PARKER

Randy Lee PARKER, 57, of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at his residence.

A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery with a graveside flag presentation conducted by the Iowa Funeral Honors Detail.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present from 5-7 p.m.

Mr. PARKER was born Sept. 1, 1955, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Russell Carl and Ruth Lucille JENNINGS PARKER. He married Shelly Lynn ARMENTROUT April 22, 1978, at the First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge. The couple later divorced.

Mr. PARKER graduated from Mount Pleasant Community High School in 1974 and from the Southeastern Community College auto body program.

He farmed in rural Mount Pleasant, raising hogs and crops, and owned an auto body shop on his farm.

He also was a truck driver, driving for Mer-Mac Trucking Company, Vermillion Brothers trucking and lastly Fineberg Metals.

He was an honorably discharged member of the Iowa National Guard.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and boating on Skunk and Iowa River.

His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Eric PARKER and spouse Dana of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Heather WILLIAMS and husband Mike of Mount Pleasant, Risa KAUFMAN and husband Steve of Wayland, and Codie OWENS of Wayland; one sister, Janet PARKER of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren; and a special friend and care giver, Delilah Gum.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his former wife.
