Ruth E. GESLING, 90, of Fairfield died today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Parkview Care Center.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Ruth Elizabeth GESLING

Ruth Elizabeth GESLING, 90, of Fairfield died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Innis officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends is 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Nazarene Church and Parkview Care Center Activity Fund. Cards and memorials may be sent to Sandy Downing, 1229 South Sheridan, Ottumwa 52501.

Mrs. GESLING was born Oct. 7, 1922, the daughter of Edward and Ada HURLEY WEST in Fairfield. She was married to Glenn W. GESLING. He died Nov. 10, 2003.

She was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County.

She worked in the wrapping department of Universal and J&B Plastics.

She enjoyed travling with her husband, gardening, circle word books, going to garage sales, Christmas shopping and eating M&M's.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra DOWNING and spouse Larry and Patricia JACOBS, all of Ottumwa; one son Stanley GESLING and spouse Fern of Fairfield; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great, great- grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and son-in-law, Art JACOB (sic).
