Woman Dies at Ripe Old Age

Mrs. Margaret GARMOE Answers
Death’s Call at Age of Ninety Years

Mrs. Margaret GARMOE passed away at her home in this city Sunday evening after a remarkable life of almost ninety-one years. Although having lived more than four score years and ten she still retained both her physical and mental faculties to a remarkable degree.

The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel CHARLTON and was born in Pennsylvania September 17, 1824. In 1846 she came to Jefferson county with her parents and has made this county her home since that time.

She was united in marriage on March 11, 1852, to Jacob GARMOE, who died July 7, 1884.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the home. Rev. A.H. Lathrop, of the Methodist church conducted the last rites.

Note: Margaret GARMOE is buried with her husband, Jacob GARMOE, in lot #206 in the Upper Richwoods Cemetery in Buchanan townshp in Jefferson County, IA.

Jacob GARMOE was born April, 26, 1824, his birth date being calculated from his death date and age shown on stone, and died July 7, 1884.

Margaret and Jacob GARMOE had no children.

MRS MARGARETE GARMORE IS DEAD (sic)

Mrs. Margaret GARMOE passed away yesterday afternoon at four o'clock at her home on North B street.

Mrs. GARMOE who was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel CHARLTON was born Sept. 17th, 1824, in Pennsylvania and has made her home in this city for many years.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock from the home and the remains will be interred in the Richwoods cemetery. Rev. A. H. Lathrop will have charge of the funeral services.
