Dies in TexasWord has been received here (Fairfield, IA) of the death of Ralph W. CHARLTON, 75, who died Tuesday, May 28, 1985 at his home in Granbury, Texas.
Memorial services were scheduled for today at the Methodist Church in Acton, Texas.
The son of Scott and Lena WORKMAN CHARLTON, he was born Aug. 21, 1909 in Fairfield. He graduated from the Fairfield High School with the Class of 1928 and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. and Houston, Texas for a number of years.
Ralph W. CHARLTON was married to Iris MORROW June 20, 1932, in Chaffee, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Dr. L. Scott CHARLTON, Sherman, Texas, and Ralph W. CHARLTON, Jr., Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; five grandchildren; a sister, Mildred ELIAS, Silver Springs, Md.; a nephew, Arthur E. WORLEY and a niece, Katheryn BOOTH both in the Fairfield area.
CHARLTON had visited relatives in the Fairfield commuity and had attended class reunions.

NOTE: His wife, Iris N. MORROW CHARLTON was born Dec. 30, 1911. Her parents were Louis SCOTT & Edna MORROW. Iris died Dec. 23, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas. Both are buried in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery near Cape Girardeau, MO. Iris CHARLTON was a 1929 graduate of Chaffee High School in Chaffee, MO, and the Chillicothe Business college and was employed at the Internal Revenue Building in Washington, D.C. Later she taught junior high school English and was a counselor.
