M. GERDE dies in California

Marie WOOLUMS GERDE, 85, of Long Beach, Calif., former area resident, died Monday, March 27, 1989, at a hospital in Long Beach.

The service was held Thursday in Long Beach with burial there.

Mrs. Gerde was born near Ottumwa, the daughter of Elijah W. and Mary K. WOOLUMS. She graduated from Packwood High School and from Parsons College in Fairfield. She had taught school for 40 years in Fairfield and Los Angeles. She married Stanley GERDE in California. He died in 1943.

Surviving are a son, Michael of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Mary K. SIRAGUSA of Long Beach; five grandchildren; two sisters, Faye SELIX of Centerville and Frances WELLS of Packwood. Two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
