Obituary transcribed from the Johnson Funeral Chapel card
Altha M. BRADFORD, 88 years, of 321 N. Sheridan Ave., Ottumwa, Iowa; and a resident of Ottumwa since 1909, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1976, at the Ottumwa Hospital, Ottumwa, Iowa.
She was born Sept. 28, 1888, at Jefferson County, Iowa; the daughter of James K. and Lucy WORKMAN BATES. She was a past President of both the American Legion Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Auxiliary, at Ottumwa, Iowa.
On Oct. 2, 1907, she was married to Miles O. BRADFORD, at Fairfield, Iowa, and he preceded her in death April 29, 1974.
Also surviving are: one son, Carmen L. BRADFORD, Ottumwa; one sister, Marie WEST, Hollywood, California; two brothers, Harold BATES, Lakewood, Colorado; Arthur BATES, Golden, Colorado; several nieces and nephew.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, her parents, and by two brothers and two sisters.

NOTE: Rev. Cecil Simonton of the Davis St. Christian Church conducted services at the Johnson Funeral Chapel, Ottumwa, Iowa, Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1976 at 1:20 p.m. Burial was at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa, Iowa.
Her husband, Miles O. Bradford, was born Aug. 8, 1883, and died April 29, 1974, in Wapello Co., Iowa. Her son, Carmen L. Bradford, was born Sept. 5, 1911, and died Feb. 25, 1995, in Wapello Co., Iowa. They are also buried at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa, IA.
