Esther M. PEEBLER

Esther M. PEEBLER, 84, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (sic - in Iowa City, IA).

The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jena Manchester officiating. Cremation will follow the service. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Agency United Methodist Church, Fairfield Senior Citizen Center or the Eldon KD Center. Cards and memorials can be sent to Steve PEEBLER at P.O. Box 99, Agency 52530.

Mrs. PEEBLER was born April 10, 1928, in New London, the daughter of Clyde and Ruth KITCH HEATER. She married M. Gene PEEBLER March 23, 1948. He died May 31, 1999.

Mrs. PEEBLER graduated from Fairfield High School in 1947.

She and her husband moved to Riverdale, Md. where they raised their children. They returned to Iowa when they retired.

She enjoyed stamped cross-stitch embroidery and listening to country music.

Survivors include eight children, Stephen PEEBLER of Agency, David PEEBLER of Hollywood, Md., Douglas PEEBLER of Fairfield, Beverly GRAY of Hedgesville, W. Va., Joyce SOLOMON of Bowie, Md., Marsha ROBERTS of St. Leonard, Md., Janet APATOFF of Columbia, Md. and Sonja WILLIAMS of Winston Salem, N.C.; one brother, Dick HEATER of Keosauqua; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her stepmother, Jessie HEATER; one son, Michael PEEBLER; and one sister, Margaret SIEBERT.
