Ronald Carlos "Bill" McCLURE, 73, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
A funeral is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. David Forrester officiating. Interment will be at White Oak Cemetery (sic - in Henry Co., IA).
An open visitation is from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. There is no family visitation time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Great River Hospice and White Oak Cemetery.

Mr. McCLURE was born July 26, 1939, in Henry County, the son of Carlos and Mildred FIELDS McCLURE. He married Elaine VORHIES April 4, 1965, at Trenton Missionary Church in Trenton, Iowa. She died Jan. 14, 2000.
He attended the Vinton and Des Moines schools for the blind.
He worked as a car detailer at various car dealers including Shafer Motors and McWhirter's. He retired from McWhirter's in 2001 after 29 years of service.
In addition to his love of classic cars, he was known for his ability to fix bicycles.
He enjoyed listening to books on tape, especially westerns written by Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey.
He enjoyed listening to country music and liked to sing.
He enjoyed sharing memories of his family and telling stories.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry McCLURE and spouse Rhonda of Mount Pleasant and Steve McCLURE of Rome, Iowa.; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dick McCLURE of Burlington and John McCLURE of Michigan; and four sisters, Joan MESSER and Phyllis SCARFF, both of Mount Pleasant, Mary GERST of Mediapolis and Betty BURDEN of New London.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Ann McCLURE.
