Margaret was born to Jesse and Hazel COWGUILL on September 1st of 1919 in Packwood, Iowa. Margaret grew up on the family farm with her two sisters Mary and Ruth and her younger brother Jay.
Margaret attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She later married Charles BRUST and moved to California. They had their children, a daughter Gretchen in 1945 and son, Sam in 1948. The family stayed in California where Margaret in addition to raising a family was an active member of the National Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and worked at one time as a secretary to the Dean of Medicine at University of Southern California in Los Angeles and later worked in the administration department at Pasadena City College for several years.
In addition to her work career Margaret was a talented artist and loved to travel.
She loved everyone and was loved by all. She passed peacefully on November 15, 2012. She was 93.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her infant daughter, Mary Kathryn, both of her parents and a sister Mary CLARK.
Margret is survived by her loving children, Gretchen and Sam. She is also survived by her brother Jay and sister-in-law Mary COWGUILL, sister Ruth GROSS, several nieces and nephews, granddaughter Amanda and great-grandson Blake.
