Brighton rites for ROGALL, 70

BRIGHTON - Herman N. ROGALL, 70, died Tuesday at Jefferson County Hospital where he had been admitted earlier in the day. He had been a resident of Parkview Care Center the past two years.

A rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. Concelebrating the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain will be the Revs. Robert Busher and Tom WINIKATES. Burial will be in the Polishville Cemetery.

Rogall was born Sept. 1, 1911 in Jefferson County to Joseph and Lucy ZYMSLONY (sic - ZMYSLONY) ROGALL. He is survived by one sister, Amelia WINIKATES of Chicago, and one brother, Leonard, of Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

A member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Polishville Cemetery Association. ROGALL lived most of his life in the Pleasant Plain area, first as a farmer and after retirement as a carpenter.

Admin. note: Herman is a distant relative of mine: his sister Amelia ROGALL WINIKATES is the wife of Walter WINIKATES, a grandson of my great-great-grandfather John BANACH. Walter is descended through John's daughter Elizabeth, and I'm descended through John's daughter Maryanna.
