Leonard R. HISEL, 79, longtime resident of Fairfield, died suddenly early this morning at his home, 807 W. Broadway.
The body has been taken to the Behner Funeral Home where services are pending.

Leonard R. HISEL, 79, died early Thursday morning at his home, 807 W. Burlington. It was found that he had died in his sleep of an apparent heart attack at about the same time his wife was undergoing surgery at Jefferson County Hospital. She will not be able to attend the funeral.
Last rites will be at Behner Funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Lynn Bergfalk in charge. The funeral and committal service will be at the funeral home. Burial will be later at Evergreen Cemetery, due to the deep snow.
HISEL was born June 8, 1899 in Jefferson County, the son of Charles and Rebecca SCOTT HISEL. On Sept. 8, 1920 he married Olive O. RUSSELL, who died May 12, 1958.
On Sept. 4, 1960 he married Beatrice B. GUSTASON and lived all his life in this community. He was a carpenter for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church and Jefferson Lodge No. 4, IOOF.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Ruth SPORKMAN of West Point, Ia., Bettye BROWN of Suburban Heights; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice MITCHELL of 303 E. Hempstead, and Louise KNEDLER of Mount Pleasant. There are four stepchildren: Dorothy BOYCE of Des Moines, James GUSTASON of Freeport, Ill., Ethel Mae CHAMP of Ottumwa, David GUSTASON of Okinawa; 10 stepgrandchildren, and six great-grandchildren (sic - step-great-grandchildren).
Visitation will be Saturday from 7-8 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.

TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE ESTATE OF LEONARD R. HISEL, DECEASED:
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 29TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1979, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF LEONARD R. HISEL, DECEASED BEARING DATE OF THE 1ST DAY OF DECEMBER, 1978, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT RONALD W. BROWN AND JAMES R. GUSTASON WERE APPOINTED EXECUTORS OF SAID ESTATE.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ANY ACTION TO SET ASIDE SAID WILL MUST BE BROUGHT IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF SAID COUNTY WITHIN SIX MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE, OR THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.
